For as long as I can remember I have always had a camera in my hand. Christmas day, when I was around 4, my Cousin Michael presented me with my first real camera, a Kodak Instamatic X-15.

I. Was. Hooked!

That little camera went with me everywhere and lasted well in to my teenage years…  after my husband and I were married,  I took my love for photography to the next level.  Our first major purchase as husband and wife?  A 35mm Yashica SLR!   This camera really opened my eyes to the possibilities all around me and it was so much fun learning and shooting life together with my husband.  Once I became a mommy, photography became my passion. I constantly had two cameras with me, my Yashica and my Polaroid instant camera.  Instant gratification!  I didn't have to wait for my film to be developed to get an idea of what I had just captured!  I was ready for digital photography about 8 years too soon!

To me, photographs are the most precious heirloom we can pass down to our children.   Just like a special song or fragrance, photographs transport us back in time to a special moment in our lives.  As a wife and a mother, a lot of thought has gone in to the many photos I have taken of my family.  Not much has changed over the years, and while I have entered the digital age and my knowledge has grown, I still take my cameras everywhere!  I want to capture life as it’s happening!

My style is photo-journalistic yet casual.  I enter in to every session prepared to capture the fleeting moments that might otherwise be missed.   A child’s dimpled cheek or tousled hair…. A groom’s tear when he sees his bride for the first time… that special moment between a parent and child… the far off gaze of the senior who is dreaming big.  I work almost exclusively with natural light and while I have many ideas for settings to make the most of your experience, your ideas are always welcome!  Comfortable and fun is how my clients describe their sessions with me.
